Cambodia Trip Part 1

Day 1 at Phnom Penh

Setting off from Changi Terminal 1, everyone is busy checking in all the stuff that we're gonna bring over to Sang Khem Youth Centre

We had to pay USD300 for excess baggage and open up some of the boxes to distibute as hand carry luggage. Sad to say, even so, we cldn't bring over all the things that we wanted to =(

Personal photo with everyone! Yeah =D Hock was thr to send me off cos he was interning at CAAS

Some shots b4 we board the flight, on the plane and when we jus touch down...

Our 1st group photo at Phnom Penh International Airport

Waiting for airport transfer (we had to make 2 trips due to the amount of stuff we have =P), on the van, our first dinner together at a road-side stall near our hotel (the food thr is quite delicious esp the fried rice! we were actually worrying abt whether we can adapt to their food but it seem like thr was no prob at all!), my room-mates PeiLing(my cooking partner too!) and Ken Yee(one of the 3 evil san ren zhu member --- the most not-evil aka BAD)!

The hotel tt we stayed in is pretty decent except for the elavator! Haha had harrowing experience wid the elavator! Cos if someone on the ground floor pressed button for the elavator, it will jus travel down w/o 1st sending those alrdy in the lift to the floor tt they want to go to! At 1st i din noe abt it and I thot the lift was falling cos it went down b4 we reach the level we wanted to go to! Scary esp when all of us tried to squeeze into the elavator which states tt it can only carry a max of 5 person! Woahaha =P In the end we were transported up, down then back up again! Nearly had motion sickness in the lift =P

Day 2 Phnom Penh to Prey Veng Province

Breakfast at the hotel (the toothpick picker is so cute! I was so amused by it that I have to snap some photos of it. Oh btw, HuiHuang was crazily high and luffing non-stop jus by browsing thru the resturant menu. Tink he forgot his medicine agn) followed by a short walk around the area.

Some shots while walking around...

Up to this point, Eric was failing his job as our photographer as he can't even take self-portraits with himself in the photo! Wahaha, it always ended up with him out of the picture i dunno y... but he's really funny to disturb!

On our way to Prey Veng, a 2-3 hr journey. We were split up into 2 vans.

This part is really cool! We have to cross the river to get to the village and guess how do we do tt? The driver will drive the whole van up to the ferry and we get transported across the river while we remain in the van! Ahaha sounds fun rite? It's my first time experiencing tt so it's a little exciting for me =P U noe jus like the carparks in Hong Kong (i tink SG has it too! at penisular plaza) tt haf elavators to transport vehicles up & down the different levels instead of manually driving round and round to get to the diff levels!

Ok this part was quite hilarious for those who were in the same van as me-the-funny! See those pple crowding outside our van whom i took pics of? Yeap they are jus sellers trying to get us to buy their stuff (food, cds, sunglasses etc.) Some of them are really aggressive! Luckily our van is enclosed, with windows all wound up if not they will literally force themselves into any openings they can find to show you their stuff cos i saw other vehicles being bombarded by them! Anw, the funny part is tt cos I was a little traumatised by them when they kept knocking on my window so I was calling out in fear "Oh no oh no how?!" Amelia was sitting nx to me and she told me to jus look away and ignore them. But b4 she cld even finish her sentence, I was "zi Pai"-ing (i.e. taking photos of myself on my own) with those pple outside the window as my background! =D Cool! Wahaha so all of them was stunned by my actions cos it didn't reflect my words earlier on!

Lunch after we cross the river. Super ex lunch if i din rem wrongly was USD85!!!

On the road, in the van, reached, unpacking and repacking, finding entertainment while working =) (the 3 guys trying to act-shuai-not-shuai. FAILED!)

Group photo after playing frisbee

Some more photos at youth centre! The little boy is on our SangKhem'07 tee! So cute! He's called Shark. HH can't ride on a bicycle for nuts! Look at how he cycle right into the fence -_-

Dinner place was quite terrible cos thr were alot of insects sharing our food with us =( but I was too hungry to care =P The fried fish was the nicest dish!
