US Work & Travel CONFIRMED!!!! n_n

Yeah!!! Aft many wks of uncertainty and waiting, my job placement for WAT(wrk & travel) has finally been confirmed =D Initially was tinking of whether to pay the full program fees in dec last yr cos everything is not confirmed yet we have to fork out like $1098.75. Tt's not including the $250 deposit we've paid earlier in nov. So the total amt I've paid up till now would be $1348.75. Woah a v huge sum of $ =( but I'm really excited abt it!

All four of us Wan Ping, Stacy, Pei Yi and I was offered the same job! yeah! Look at how we'll spend our summer in US:

Employer Name: Charlie's Food Concessions

WORK DESCRIPTION: You will be working in a family business of traveling concession stands. You should be prepared to do all of the tasks involved with operating the food concession stands: preparing and cooking food (griddle and deep fry), making pizza, serving customers/taking orders, cleaning the stand and tables, making change, setting up and taking down tables, chairs and tents, etc. Because you will be dealing with many people and working with money, you should be able to speak English well and have a good knowledge of American currency.

UNIFORM DRESS CODE: Your clothing must be neat and clean. You will be required to wear a company shirt (cotton, t-shirt), hat, and apron while the stands are open. You will be required to purchase t-shirts for about $5 each from your employer. You should bring or purchase casual black jeans (not dark blue!), black pants, or black long shorts to wear on the job as part of your uniform, and comfortable shoes. Long hair must be pulled back and men must be clean shaven. Short hair for men is preferred. Jewelry should be limited to watches and small stud earrings. No other facial piercing allowed. Tattoos should be concealed.

SALARY PER HOUR: Starting at $6.50 per hour.

OVERTIME: $9.75 per hour.

BONUSES: You may receive a performance bonus of $10.00 per week for a job well done provided that you stay until your agreed end date. If you successfully complete your work commitment, you may receive a refund of your housing costs. You will also receive $9.75 an hour for any hours worked after 40 hours per week.

ACCOMMODATION COST: Approximately $40 per week.

ACCOMMODATION: Housing is provided for $40.00 per week, but your housing costs will be refunded to you if you work until the end of your work commitment, your performance is satisfactory and your room is left in good condition. A deposit of $40 will be taken from your first paycheck and will be returned to you when you complete your commitment if your housing is clean and in good condition, and all linens are returned. You will be living in modern travel trailers with other students. Rooms house two or four students. Each room has beds, closets, a sink, a shower, and air conditioning. All trailers will be within walking distance of the work site. You may eat and drink from the food prepared in the stands for free (breakfast is not provided). Refrigerators and freezers are available for you to store your own groceries if you desire. Smoking and drinking alcohol are prohibited in your housing, in any of the vehicles, and at work. Housing is strictly male or female. No visitors of the opposite sex are allowed in your housing.

TRAVEL TIME FROM NYC TO JOB SITE: 24 hours.

APPROXIMATE TRAVEL COST FROM NYC: $90.

MODE OF TRAVEL: Bus

COMPANY INFO: This employer is a family run concessions business with eight concession trailers. The trailers are used to prepare and sell food at special events and fairs. This is a unique job in that you will be based in Wisconsin, but traveling throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Upper Michigan, Tennessee, and Alabama. You will travel to a new location with your coworkers and the trailers every week or two. On your time off you will have time to do some exploring and enjoy your time in the U.S.

AREA INFO: Your home base is in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, adjacent to Madison-the capitol city of Wisconsin, and near the popular tourist destination of Wisconsin Dells. You will be traveling throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Upper Michigan, Tennessee, and Alabama.

Sounds cool rite? =D Although i tink tt the pay of $6.50 is a little low =( Btw, if any of u haf any info abt any of the states mentioned above, pls let me know k? Cos i haf totally no idea whr r all those areas tt we'r gonna wrk at and whether thr are things to see and do =P

The best part is that I haf requested to go after commencement ceremony and the arrangement was done nicely! I'm only required to reach New York City on 15 July 2008 and work until at least 15 oct 08. I tink commencement dates wouldn't fall aft tt rite? =D It's the best of both worlds. Oh and if any of u al know of whr to get cheap air tix to new york, pls let me know too =)

The importance of networking in today's society

After attending the CNM industry advisory council lunch and panel session yesterday plus accompanying hock to purchase his nokia 6500 slide all black version phone jus now, I have finally understood what my mum was trying to tell me about maintaining good working relations years ago when I started on my first job after graduating from jc.

How shall I start?

Hock and I had an unpleasant experience purchasing his phone as the customer service guy did not consult us about which plan we intend to sign and whether we needed any value-added services. The good thing now is that all the admin wrk is now computerized unlike during my era whereby u haf to fill in tons and tons of application for jus one silly new mobile line sign-up. Such is the beauty of technology. However, we will always use the term "double-edged sword" for everything and anything tt comes with great benefits. It doesn't differ much in this case. The guy sent in our application with PV100 plan according to his own assumption. Tt's it. We wanted student plan with no. retention and guess wad he told us?
"U all haf to go to HQ to do it cos i alrdy submitted!"

WAD! HELLO BOY! When i was standing (u even haf a better life than me now! U get to sit down, i had to stand for 12 hrs straight last time) at the cust service counter taking on the same responsibilities as u r now, i guess u r still mugging hard for ur PSLE exams man! U wanna tell me tt u can't do anything abt it and wan us to shoulder the extra trouble tt u haf created?

I was really quite pissed not bcos he made a mistake but bcos his attitude sucks!
1) He took the longest time he could to process our application - I'm actually quite ok if u'r a newbie and u'r not really familiar wid the procedures hence work v slowly but if u dunno sth, U HAF GOT TO ASK MAN! not jus keep quiet and do the wrong things cos u can't be bothered to ask and then haf other pple to suffer the consequences of ur mistakes!
2) He looks really shagged and stone with the "it's such a dread to serve u" face - most prob cos he party till too late last nite? V v unprofessional! Even if u r really tired, u shd still smile occassionally (NOTICE THE USE OF OCCASSIONALLY & NOT ALWAYS?) bcos u'r in the service industry!!!

Well anw, being as nice as always =) Hmmm actually not really cos sometimes I may lose my temper if the person's attitude is lousy but most of the time, I am very understanding cos I've been thru such wrk exps and it's v sian to deal wid nasty customers. Plus I've met really nice customers b4 and I had swore to be like them so I usu would =D ahaha

Later on, he suggested tt an easier way would be tt we call in to 1633 to get the student plan and no. retention done. I told him to settle everything for me since in the first place we are entitled to such services and not make extra efforts to get it done. In the end with the help of his in-charge, we settled on having them fax our necessary docs over to starhub HQ but the in-charge said tt thr may b a nd for us to go to the HQ if they nd signatures or sth.

I was still not too pleased. Conincidentally, I met my ex in-charge from Dopod and he happen to be with a guy from Stahub HQ. The guy was thr to look at the operations of the roadshow. Initially I didn't know he was from HQ and I went over to tok to my in-charge and complained abt the screwed-up service at the same time. Opps =P dunno if it's a good or bad thing to do but tt guy, I tink Sean/Shawn heard me, asked me exactly wad happened and started looking for the pple involved to settle the issue. Initially I was quite afraid tt i'll land them into deep trouble and started telling the HQ guy "hey it's ok la frenly k!" Then he was like "no it's ok, i can help u tell them" yada yada and Woah! TT's it. Suddenly aft Shawn spoke to the in-charge, everyone started wrking v seriously and with more sense of urgency, assuring us tt all the application will be done accordingly. Sweet.

The main point of this whole incident was tt it made me realize tt having the "right connections" helps alot! N these "connections" are part of what is known as networking! Correct me if I'm wrong.

This brings me to part 2 of the importance of networking.

At the same roadshow, I saw another 2 ex-boss of mine whom I didn't want to go say "hi" to simply bcos I've offended one of them and scolded the other. BAD! It suddenly jus dawn on me tt if I had maintained a gd work-relationship with them, I would haf been happily toking and catching up wid them! Not to mention tt one of them is a high-flyer. Which leads me to tink abt the other unpleasant wrk-relationship with another company (opps how come I offended so many pple? =P).

This sets me tinking abt my own working attitude and EQ, something which I lack alot although I did improve alot on too! All the unpleasant work-relationships developed yrs ago when I was abt 18 years old. Looking back, I kinda regret some of the behaviours I had. And I've always kept in my heart the words this man, whom I kinda admire, said to me yrs ago (he's my direct in-charge and quite shuai too! haha) "Jasmine, u're jus like me when I'm young. Very hot-headed! U noe I challenged a customer to fight before? If u'r a guy, i guess u'd most probably do the same or do sth similar along tt line. But now, I haf to tell u tt u can't go on like tt. U muz learn to adapt and control ur temper. Like me now, I act according to the situation."

Such simple words took me yrs to see some light in them. N it was not until today tt I began to realize more of the meaning behind these words.

No wonder my mum kept telling me tt "Fan shi dou yao ren" (losely translated as "u haf to endure") and "Yao zhun jing bie ren" ("respect others"). She also told me tt it's good to maintain good relationship wid everyone, not only with those high-flyers bcos u may not know, someday u might nd the help of jus anyone! Tt in my own terms is "frenly" with all haha =D I love to frenly wid pple. However, my child-like definition of "frenly" when seen from the perspective of work society is known as "networking". What an unfrenly term!

The good rapport tt everyone wans to build with those in power. Politics are jus everywhr it makes me so sick of it yet I'll to play along when i step out to join the working class =(

CNM industry advisory council lunch ytd shed more light to me on the importance of networking! I was a little shy and did not really dare to interact much. Hmmm guess this is one of the problem I haf to overcome esp if i'm gg into PR, adv or mkt line. I nd to communicate! Heh dunno y but whenever I say tt i'm shy everyone will be like "cut the crap la Jasmine! U'r shy? Then I'm wad?" Ok fine maybe I'm not shy, jus tt i'm not too confident of speaking to strangers (esp those of higher authority) and large no. of audiences. I'm still working on tt! Heh who doesn't haf stage fright rite?

Anw, I still managed a short chat with the SIA PR vice head and he gave some insightful tips as to wad r the 3 things he look out for in a potential candidate during interview.
No.1 Ask questions! Show that you are interested in the job by asking questions and not just listen to what the interviewers have to say
No.2 Show him your enthusiasm and passion for the job!
No.3 Shout out to him why he should choose you over other candidates

The panel session at central lib about career prospect was very useful. It was also a small moral booster to a CAP 2.57 like yours truly. 2 of the 3 speakers at the panel said that results are not all that matters bcos the bottom line is that everyone is now holding on to a degree. What really sets one apart from the rest would be other non-academic achievements. Ms Chor Guan from GAMBIT, the only lady speaker of the panel, said that the 1st thing she look at in a resume is hobbies =D ahaha and no prize for guessing why. Being in the gaming industry, if you don't even know how to have fun, how can you create games which are good enough for others to enjoy? I can't agree more. The best statement that I can never forget would be "Having a cap 5 only shows me that you mug hard enough, nothing else." Sweet! Furthermore, one of them said that as you start working, no one is going to look at the results you got in school.

However, all the panel speakers encouraged everyone to go for Honors if they can when one member of the audience posted the 1st qn of whether is it necessary for Honors degree. The reason given was that the best years of one's life would be when he/she is a student and not bcos it gives better prospects. They even emphasized that it wouldn't make much difference in your paycheck unless you work in the gov sector. Since they are all from the private sector, I guess they know it best.

Btw, I'm so overwhelmed with assignments and projects!!! OMT (oh my tian~). I have to submit 2 reflections per week, 1 for promotional management and the other for game design. So far I've alrdy submitted 2 since the start of sch and 2 more is due by tues 8am nx wk. Since nm3219 lect was cancelled due to the CNM event, thr's an assignment + podcast to complete. Also, I have alrdy had proj meeting last thurs at biz lib for close to 3 hrs and another meeting for another proj during class ytd. Thr's mkt proj report #1 due nx wed and tentative biz comm proposal was submitted during class ytd. Woah! All these... Mind you, it's jus week 2 of the sem. Tutorial hasn't even started man!

I'm confirmed to be in Winnie's item aft receiving Yayi's msg but I'll nd to learn the steps from Stacy 1st and try to catch up cos thr's only 2 more practs to go b4 she finish teaching all the dance steps. Tough job for me =( but it would be better cos being involved in only 1 item, although ok for me, is quite "cheating the feelings" of frens who come to watch cum support me. Haha like wad happened last yr when most of them was anticipating my appearance and I only performed in 1 item =P

Sometimes it feels good to be busy cos u'r occupied and u feel really happy to haf fully utilized ur time instead of jus slping or slacking them away although at times, u feel really shagged! It is during times like these tt u feel tt watching tv shows, dramas or movies is a luxury cos u finally manage to seize some time to relax rather then feeling bored and watching programs to past time.

I dunno if this applies to u too but when I was in secondary sch, watching tv was my fav pastime and esp during exam period when I'm barred from tv, even the commercials seem so intresting! Wahahav aft exams end when i haf all the time in the world to watch tv, every show seems so boring -_-

Here are the much anticipated (photo)updates!!! =D ahaha

21 jan 08 steamboat buffet @ bugis & Cloverfield
Met Hock to accompany him to buy his new phone plus he's giving me a treat cos he jus got his intern pay =) thr wasn't any gd promo hence we proceeded to our buffet steamboat!

Oh my la! the fried bun is superb-ly deli! I ordered like 5 plates? the sauce is also v good yum =)

both of us felt like watching a movie and cathay was having a darn good promo of $6 per tix and free popcorn wid every 2 tix purchased if u pay by UOB card! We watched cloverfield, i can't say if it's a good movie. Hmm cos during the screening of the movie, i was totally drawn into the plot and following the scenes very closely but all of a sudden, lights ON! the movie ended! The duration of the movie was jus slightly more than an hr and thr was no conclusion!

Happen to see Mei Xin's poster at the bus stop outside The Cathay! Haha she's my childhood playmate. Have lost touch with her long ago but our mothers are still in constant contact! Recently, she jus launched her new album and is becoming a celebrity(spokesperson for munchy donut)! My mum kept asking me to look out for her publicity stuff cos both mummys (her mum and mine) are discussing abt her all this while. Wish her all the best and may she haf a sucessful career. Heard tt it's tough being in this line.

19 jan 08 Hair Colour change!
Went ahead to do sth abt my hair with my mummy! A long overdue item on my to-do list! Wanted to cut + colour my hair aft exams last yr and even wanted to do it while i was in cambodia! Ahaha but i didn't dare =P

Headed down to queensway with LiXin to buy my much-needed sneakers! Got a good buy $60 for this Nike! Initially I wanted to get a durable pair of all-purpose sports shoes which means Nike is out cos I heard from everyone tt Nike spoils v easily. However =P they haf the nicer designs hence I've decided to use this for dance and gai-gai but not for jogging! I'll ask my Korkor to get a pair of newblance or brooks from army ahaha =D jogging requires only comfort, no nd for aesthetics =P

My 1st time dining in =P ahaha V sua gu i noe cos normally pple da bao for me! Super delicious man!

Round up of last week 7jan - 14jan 08

Just got back from dinner at Holland V! XO fish beehoon, 3 lou hor & har jiong kai ROCKZ!!! Finally started my exercise regime with a jog all thanks to Lixin and Ming Hui =) Feels good after jogging even though i totally "replenished" the calories I've lost immediately with the visit to Holland V. Shall jog more often! Yeah!

Anw, a summary of wad i did for the week!

14 jan 08 Room warming!
Had a pot-luck style room warming for the SK peeps =) firstly to meet up and also for them to see how nicely I've decorated my room =D Wahaha

my very "effort" decor to welcome them...

Our yummilious spread (omg, wee boon's fried rice, amelia's curry & gwen's dessert is super upz la!), the cutish hello kitty marshmallow is my rm-warming gift

Random shots...

Btw, my rm-warming was in the tv lounge cos thr's no way to fit 16 peeps into my miserably-"big" room & jia wei as usual was very cute.
"Eh jasmine, actually I wanted to ask u sth but aft tt I realised it myself alrdy but i jus tell u k! Jus now when i first came in, I thot "wah, how come ur room so big?" but then hor, whr's the bed?" Ahaha =D joke of the day

Busy preparing for grp photo..

Ji si

He Fen! (ahaha our action for the dish "ji si he fen" aka Hor Fun with shredded chicken)

Check this out! Fiona not-too-please with me standing beside WeeBoon, her "bf" wahaha

Huang Li Chao Fan!

Nice one! Yeah Thanks for coming =D

13 jan 08 Tanning@sentosa, meet laiyi
Met up with the Bimbos for a long overdue tanning session. Rushed down aft slpover at Rihao's place, which explains y i'm in the same top =P

As the name suggest, Stacy and Linda really live up to the bimbo spirit! Let me illustrate:
Linda & Stacy took a bus from hall and seek alrdy arrived so was walking to the station control(meeting pt). As Linda and Stacy were also walking to the station control, they saw a ger infront of them who resembles Seek alot! She was wearing a pink cap with her hair tucked in and reading 8-days mag.
Bimbo conversation follows (L=Linda, S= Stacy)
L: "Wah the ger looks like seekee"
S: "Ya really leh, dunno whether is it her anot"
L: "We walk faster and see la"
S: "Ok the way she walk also like seekee"
Linda and Stacy walked right up to the ger and took a close side view look of her
L: "CONFIRM! is NOT seekee"
S: "YAH! CONFIRM! but she really look like eh"
YES U BIMBOS OBVIOUSLY LOOK LIKE COS IT'S TOTALLY SEE KEE!!!!
to tink that they still went to call her and ask her whr she is when they had jus walked pass her -_-

Funny right? 1st time to hear of such a story! Normally it's either u got the wrong person or u ain't sure if it's the right person cos u'r alone and not v shou with the person. Now it's 2 person and we've alrdy known each other for yrs!

Presenting to u... Da bimbos n_n

Didn't manage to get really tan & also din manage to tan away the "tan-line" on my feet =( Boo

After lunch with bimbos, I headed down to town to catch up with lai yi. We wanted to update each other abt our trip (she's really zai! Went to backpack Thailand all on her own *kowtow)and tell her that one of our common fren is getting married.

She gave me a treat at monster ice and below is an excerpt from her blog post of what took place:

Two people VS a pair
So i treated my fren at Monster Ice at Plaza Sing. I supposed it was a great time until...

She (looked up, look ard): why other pple's ice seems so much more delicious?
Me: no ma.. same ma..
Me looked up. (see a couple eating)
Me looked ard (see another couple eating)
Me: Well.. of coz pple's one seems nicer la, they eating with the boyfriends lei, u eating with a FRIEND only lei..
She looked at me: True hor~

Then we burst into laughers... HAHAHA...

Opps, actually I really thot the other plates look more yummy! Serious! cos it seem like they've got a thicker topping! But still the whole incident was really funny. I secretly took a shot of the 2 couples to prove tt indeed they are enjoying their dessert more than we do!

12 jan 08 Meet martina, kor's house warming, dinner and slpover at RiHao's place
Was toking to Martina on msn the nite before. We kept having failed attempts to meet up so finally we decided tt enuff is enuff and decided to meet for breakfast at tpy macs the nx morning. Long time since I last saw her and OMG! she's getting married! Gross! I haven't even got a bf la! (Laiyi share my sentiments) Ahaha kidding la. Will give her all my blessings. She was suppose to meet her fiance at 11 to settle some housing stuff so she came earlier to meet me!

Went to HDB hub viewing gallery with her. My 1st time thr! Interesting =) Din know thr's so much things to take into consideration when applying for a flat! Loans and stuff, basically getting hitched will cost a bomb and eventually when you start living on your own, everything will revolve around $! U've got to manage ur finances well =(

Met up with evil 3 ren zhu 1st b4 heading down to this dinner place at bendemeer(is tt how i spell it?) for the dunno wad yu lu thing which isn't even nice and their service sucks! But it's ok, it's the company tt counts. I always thot so. Jus like when I was in Cambodia for a month, I didn't miss home at all bcos I have all of them to accompany me =D the only time i felt homesick was on the "i-gallop" road trips cos i had motion sickness =( Also, I may be eating the best food in the world or my most fav food but w/o the right company, it wun taste good anymore!

Yang Zong Wei ~ Aska Yang

Oh my... He's one of the so few who can make me stop whatever I'm doing at the moment he starts singing jus so tt i can listen to him whole-heartedly and attentively. He's power! Upz man! Qiang! credits to wanping who intro he's 背叛 to me. Judge for urself here:

It was orginally Gary Cao's song but i tink he beats Gary hands-down man! Look at this and you will know why i say tt!

Aska sings the best among the 3 of them! I tink it's so paiseh for Gary cos this song isn't tt popular until Yang sang it during chao ji xing guang da dao! Listen to another of his great singing: (2nd half)

Thr's only one problem wid him --- He's not SHUAI! =P wahaha was suggesting to wp tt the 3 of them shd form a Shi Li Pai boyband! Wahaha not Ou Xiang Pai those kind e.g. Fei Lun Hai!

Reflections for 2007 & Resolutions for 2008

Ok I know this is far too late but but but it's better then nv! =D

Reflections of 2007

Smilez =D
1) I've started regular blogging which is good cos i can keep track of my life and know what I have done. On the flip side, I hurt/offended/upset people with what I wrote on my blog in a spurr of the moment as I was in bad mood . That was when I first started. The episode is resolved cos I've kinda apologized and clarified myself. Well, I have since learn that when one is really angry, frustrated and in a v lousy mood, one shd jus calm down and tink thru things instead of losing their cool. Bcos even though u dun mean the things u've said, words still hurt. U can't take it bk and u will definitely regret.

2) I had my 1st Dance performance (excl the one in comm hall) at Club MoMo and received great positive feedback =D My mum, sis, Hock, Louis, Benny, Xu Zi, SeeKee, WanPing went down to support me and I received a small bouquet from Siew Kia even though she cldn't be thr. Touched =) Oh and a soft toy flower and "funny" bear from Hock too! Actually I realise tt i dun dislike flowers. In fact, I think I love them! I've finally came to realise the reason why I hate them so much in the past --- bcos I can't stand the sight of flowers withering! I'm funny right? Ahaha cos they look so miserable when they wither and I feel really guilty having to throw them away. It doesn't help tt flowers are quite ex too and I'll be doing injustice to the person giving it to me cos i dun get to keep it. So now tt I know, I actually love pretty flowers when I jus receive them. Another reason may be bcos I feel shy carrying flowers ard. U noe esp when pple turn to look, quite paiseh rite? On the other hand, I kinda enjoy the sight of a guy holding on to a bouquet of flowers looking very shy and at the same time anxious but yet have the blissful look on his face! V cute! I will feel happie for tt guy also.

3) Tried go-karting for the 1st time and got hooked on it!

4) Went to Tioman for snorkelling. Although it's not as nice as krabi, I was really sick of work tt time and badly needed a break.

5) Did my 3-month internship with CEMS and had a good experience there!

6) Went to Disneyland, a childhood fantasy, for the 1st time when I travelled to Hong Kong with WanPing. Benny was a great host!

7) Winning the Hula Girl Search Competition which gave me the opportunity of travelling to Hawaii and Taiwan. During the trip, I have made new friends and become more aware of the world tt we're living in! As I surfed couches instead of staying in hotels, it was a totally new experience and made me more open-minded when interacting with new people.

8) Celebrated my close fren's 21st b'days with them
Elaine- Cabbed down aft foodhunt but wasn't in time to see her cut b'day cake. I was the worst dressed guest tt nite, in shorts and tee, bimbos shared a polariod cam for her
Siew - Met her aft exams, treat her to movie, choco fondue & gave her gmask voucher as prezzie
Stace - Arranged with her then-bf Ma Xiao to surprise visit her at her family b'day dinner. She even cried la so funny! Gave her a crumpler bag although was half-a-yr late but was another surprise incident!
Seek - Arranged with wp to surprise her at MS outside bowling centre, chipped in for her ixus70
Linda - Met for dinner at Holland V. Gave her a Cheong Sum which sadly =( she dun like
WanPing - Did the most for this frenly neighbour! Helped her with planning of her b'day party, designed her invitation card & door gift tags, sourced for door gifts, PR abit for her during the party, shared a Topshop bag with other NUS peeps

9) My exam grades were satisfactory last semester although I thot it cld be better. Grades were nv in the top priority of my worries hence I'm ok.

10) Lastly, I ended the year with a fruitful and fufilling YEP trip to Cambodia, Prey Veng - Sang Khem '07. Really glad to have been given the opportunity to join the team and got to know each of the 15 of them better.

Frowns >=(
1) "I thought meeting u in NUS was the best thing that have ever happened to me but I was wrong" Words from someone whom I thot exactly the same way before. I thot meeting tis fren was my blessing (u were so nice or was it all jus disguise?) but it turned out otherwise. It disappoints me really alot and I must admit tt I'm deeply hurt! Although I don't show it but I am! Cos I don't trust people often and tis fren was one of the few who gained mine. Now, "true fren" has been redefined for me and I've become very very wary of pple.

2) I ended my 1st relationship. Hmmm, for good and bad. I can't be sure if was a good choice then but I'm fairly happy the way things are now cos we're still so frenly and can have heart-to-heart chats or gossips =P

3) I didn't hold a 21st b'day celebration. A little bit of a regret cos I was really busy tt time.

4) My grades for 2 sems ago (1st half of the yr) were not too good

5) Didn't manage to join the go-karting competition =( but according to wanping and monica, hula mkt exe (Hula was the drink sponsor), it was a blessing in disguise. It was quite terrible cos it rained and waiting time was long.

6) My little nephew was diagnosed with a hole in his heart =( Rem my bro was devastated but little Lenny's now a healthy cute boy aft his sucessful op!

7) My usual family issues are still not resolved

Resolutions for 2008
1) Slim down & exercise more to be healthy!!!
2) Put up a good dance performance at BTC this coming 28 & 29feb
3) Catch up with more friends whom I have neglected
4) To graduate from NUS, attend commencement ceremony and take loads of graduation pics wid everyone and anyone =P (Notice that I din mention CAPS? ahaha it really doesn't make much diff)
5) Join US Work & Travel with PeiYi, Stacy and WanPing and enjoy it to the fullest!
6) Be a nicer girl
7) Be a more filial daughter =P
8) Put more smiles on other's faces =)
9) Control/manage my temper and emotions more effetively
10) Go on graduation trip (to Taiwan or Australia) with the bimbos!
11) Learn to manage my finances better

That's all that I can tink of for now!

Cambodia Trip Part 2

Day 3 Interaction with kids, Visit to market & Preparation Work

Our sleeping area as the 1st 2 pics. Initially I was a little surprised by the wooden floor. I thot it's gonna be a concrete building haha but it didn't take me long to get use to it since my late grandma's hse in m'sia was sth like tt. The kids at the village were really excited by our arrival and came real early in the morning hence we interacted with them.

This ger in the pic with me called Dalin keeps frenly-ing with me. Tink she quite like me cos she keep holding my hand and an me to take her bicycle =D ahaha The kids thr travel by bicycle and they always like to pillion us!(ask us to sit behind them so tt they can tongbang us to whr we wanna go)

Our breakfast and 1st visit to the market! Very impt to know the mkt well cos all of us are rostered to cook for everyone else! N we'll haf to grocery-shop at this 20-min-walk-away-mkt!

I simply LOVE this photo! So sweet rite? The little ger is soooo pretty! Look like a japanese!

Starting on our program preparation aft we got bk from the mkt! The minnie mouse mask is done by ME! *claps ahaha cos I'm part of the Art & Craft + Speech and Drama Team! At the same time we will play with kids who drop by the youth centre.

As usual, queen of zi-pia-ing

I love these photos, they are so beautiful!

This is one of my fav! Simple and sweet! some of them say it can be used as a postcard!

Another not-so-nice one

The people living at the riverside were the much poorer ones. Even so, I really thot tt sometimes, simplicity is beauty!

Another group pic of our grp that turned right (we split into 2 grps to do publicity, one grp turn left and the other to the right street)

A random one...
