Dragon Boat mishap in Cambodia
I would like to offer my deepest condolence to the family members, relatives and loved ones of the 5 victims of the dragon boat race mishap last friday.
I am busy studying at biz lib when my sis called to inform me that all of the 5 bodies were recovered! Oh my... just last night I read at the newsstand that there were 5 missing people from the team of 22. I was then with seekee, kiat and wanping at IMM having dinner and was about to head back to hall.
I am really shocked the feel very sorry and really sad for the whole incident.
Seek was still saying that one of them is a pageant contestant from her sch and was hoping tt he can recover in time for the pageant. How now? Athough I noe tt they'r gonna continue the pageant w/o his presence, how do they cope with the loss? Worst for his parents I tink.
Another guy is my sis's close fren's fren who have jus graduated from NTU. They are all from the dragon boat team. I can imagine the sorrows of his parents. Oh man! A young man who've jus graduated from college ready to purse his career... How more heart-wrenching can anything else get for parents who have been looking forward to their child(ren) finally graduating from the university and being able to be self-sufficient?
Something else that came to my mind was that: What about their girlfriends? What if all 5 of them have gfs? How are they gonna cope with it? =( Oh no...
It suddenly reminded me of my sec sch teacher, a very plesant, bubbly and caring Chinese teacher whose finacee was murdered in Sydney... A very very sad news that I received during Chinese New Year a couple of years back when I paid a visit (aka bai nian) to Mr Ng (my hist/ss sec sch teacher). At that time, the news was one of the "hot" news on Straits Times and we somehow managed to talk about it. It was only then tt I realized that one of the 2 guys murdered was my teacher's finacee. Mr Ng told me that she was copign well but had lost all her jovial and bubbly character... Sad..
If ya dunno which incident I'm referring to, check out the case from STOMP here:
The Sydney Double Murder
I hope tt my mum doesn't get too worried abt me going to Cambodia. My sis just told me tt she kept asking abt it although it's a totally different venture! U noe how the elders always tend to associate different categories as one...
I'm getting back to my readings with a heavy heart, hope that nothing gets worst... Btw, I'm so affect that I had to pent down my thots almost immediately hence this entry was written at one of the work station at biz lib...
