Updates for the week - Project Presentations

Realized that it's been a week since I last blogged! Woah last week was the 1st week aft mid term break, no more dance practs and there was tonnes of project deadlines.

On monday night, victor jus suddenly and randomly jio everyone for KTV (ok wasn't tt random cos he asked me the wk b4 whether i cld make it on mon) cos Andrew broke up with his gf and he thot we can jus meet up and chill! Heh..Initially I was a bit reluctant cos I went for volunteering very early in the morning and didn't nap at all cos busy wid projs and the nx day I've got game design presentation. Ok but he kindly offered to chauffeur me and felicia so decided to go ahead and psycho fel too! Fel didn't wanna go cos she nds to take care of dawson. I suggested tt she jus bring him along since i haven seen tt cute boy for a long time! I even offered to take care of him =P ahaha like real heh. In the end fel's mum was home in time to take over =) ahaha partly cos we kept dragging and went out at like 10plus.

Anw, had a good time ktv-ing and i am such a pig cos I happily took out my digicam to take pictures and guess what??????? I forgot to load mem card into my cam -_- was transferring animal behaviour experiment fotos jus now and forgot to put it bk! Darn it!

Reached back late like 4 plus and woke up early at like 9am to practice presentation with melissa before she went for morning tutorial haha good thing abt staying in the same hall. Aft tt i did animal behaviour slides and din managed to nap. Before I knew it, it was time for game design presentation!

Yeap! tt was the board game created by...(look at my shagged face!)

During presentation on the 2nd slide, I suddenly fumbled and choked on my words cos i lost my chain of thoughts, plus was too tired due to the lack of slp and i literally blabbered through the whole slide OMG! Luckily I recovered in time for the next slide but became very nervous. Well in the end, the Q&A session saved me as I was having a good time entertaining and engaging the audience =D Haha was really funny la cos the evaluator cum ex-lecturer of tt mod sitting at the back kept wanting to ask me qns (we were kinda having a frenly mini debate on our views) and alex, my lecturer, didn't wan him to tok so much cos thr was a time limit so the ex lecturer jokingly(plus exaggeratedly) went "No here! over here... no... let me let me..." with hands waving in the air and neck sticking out *mimicking drowning action*

Yeah! Jing Heng commented tt it was a good presentation despite the earlier "screw up" We spent $40 on the prototype. Mass production will definitely reduce the cost I promise =P ahaha If any manufacturer out thr who's interested to produce this game for sale can contact me yeah *winks

Presenting to u.... Grid rem!

What's inside?

Overall, I enjoyed myself working with them =D Everyone was efficient and put in all their efforts to complete the proj =) Special thanks to frenly neighbours Wan Ping & Stacy for volunteering (or forced) to be my playtester! Yeap stacy i din forget tt u spelled the word wrongly hence cldn't win =D I used tt as a strong pt in my presentation tt this game really helps build up vocabulary cos u'll rem the word u spelt wrongly for the rest of ur life! (the whole class burst out laughing btw =P)

Next up was Animal behaviour presentation! I spent quite a lot of time doing up the visuals for the presentation. I had always love visuals during lectures and I believe that alot of pple prefer to look at pictures and videos rather than text! It also help memory retention better than a whole chunk of text(So boring!). So this is an important task and look at what I've done =D

Must thank Justina and her parents for agreeing to let us use their pet shop as the experiment compound =)

Hock did a great job in presenting in a very lively and funny manner. However, it was not appreciated by the "Professinal" Scientific Presentation Symposium Graders as they say that we ought to do a professional presentation. *Roll eyes* Sorry not trying to be bitchy here heh but u call denim shorts and tank tops professional? Someone said that the music from the video was distracting! If I dun put in a catchy music, would u be still awake? Although I was quite pissed by their standard of judegment, I was really happy at the same time cos all of us were well prepared and took on all the qns w/o any hiccups. The only thing was tt i din manage to ans any qns =P ahaha was enjoying the debate going on then.

Anw, I still feel that our style of presentation is alrite. I believe that engaging the audience is of our uttermost priority. What's the point of a presentation w/o audience? I would want to believe that Arts and Biz are better in this area cos Science are more focused on research rite? Furthermore, I do believe tt 1st impression counts! That explains why we're in jeans and shirt rather than shorts and tee during a "professional" presentation!

Here's the video of our experiment, judge for yourself yeah?

Jus left with the final report due this thurs =)
