Woah Hoo~ My 1st day at CEMS(Conference & Exhibition Management Services) was great! I wore this victorian-like top with working pants and cream pumps! Looks nice doesn't it?


Here is my work area:

I'm actually sitting at the Marcom Manager's desk and guess what? Taking over her duties as well! Haha cos she left the company a couple of weeks ago and they have yet to hire another. The Assistant Marcom Manager, Amanda, sits beside me. She's very nice and helpful! She got me a rag to wipe the desk and helped clear stuff from my side of the shelf so that I'll have more space. These people really keep lots of junk! Ok maybe they need it for future reference for the same event happening next year but still... It's so untidy! Even Amanda can't stand it!

Amanda's really nice. She's very patient in teaching me stuff and gives really good advices! You know, sometimes when you really dunno how to do something and you asked for help, you'll later realize that the qns you had asked b4 were so dumb bcos you now know how to do them and those things seem so easy! That's why pple get impatient trying to teach another person who is new at sth. I mean it's no one's fault, it's a learning process!

Ok my point is, she guided me in doing what I'm suppose to do and many of the stuff are actually similar to what I do for Arts club projects! Haha CCA does count k! Woah~ I am already given 2 projects and 3 task to do within these few minutes in the office!

I am required to
1) update both project's barter trade list and follow-up to ensure terms are met(very cute right? These days still exist barter trade)
2) do up trade visitor's mail-out brochure for SIJS
3) do up email blast ads for SSA

So stressful! I was super shocked when I heard it cos I thought I need to design them! Haha in the end I'm suppose to only copywrite and draft up the concept and get a designer to do the designing! I'm free to use any freelance designer within budget, cool right? =) I have to oversee everything, from getting clearance right up to producing them!

I met up with the MediaCorp Senior Sales Executive Veronica. She was here to sell MediaCorp TV ad spot packages. Amanda asked me to follow her to gain some exposure. How nice of her! Through this, I found out that a 15-sec ad aired ONCE during primetime would have cost $3500 on channel 8! My god! So ex!!!! Imagine you need the ad to appear 3 times in one-hour interval. It would have cost 10.5k!!!

Another guy in the company, Raymond, is from NUS too =) Happy to see someone from school! He's actually a perm part-time! Works for the company when there's vacation and the company actually sends him to Beijing to organize exhibitions! How cool right? But he told me that it just sounds glamorous. In actual fact he work his ass off while overseas, even during weekend with no time at all to tour around!

Back at my desk, I am busy surfing the web and browsing magazines for pictures, captions, words to spark some ideas for my designs! My creative juice have long dried up man!

The work culture, Oh MY, is really liberal! They leave me all alone to do my own stuff and do anything I want as long as I meet the deadline! Love it this way! JasmineJizmine hates being controlled and restricted!

I must really say it's a fulfilling 1st day at work for me!

I went to Vivo to catch the movie Spiderman 3 with Hocky.


The guy (Spiderman's gd friend Harry) in the movie is really shuai! =P
The movie starts only at 9.50pm cos we insist on watching GVmax for the mega screen and great surround sound effect! So we went to taste the latest craze in town:


We did this in just 10 mins:


Then we headed to Gloria Jeans for a drink:


And ended up ordering salad also cos of a sudden craving! It's really tasty though, didn't regret:

THe chair was so comfy that I fell aslp for abt half an hr plus!
