Advanced Open Water at Pulau Aur (yes Aur again)
Promises were kept and there you go! The forces re-unite again after 1 year =)
Compare it to our open water attempt last year here
Guess we are missing Francis only , our dear dive master. Jerry was next door hah so counted as present. Initially, Stacy didn't want to go as she strongly resisted the 4-hour boat ride but in the end we still went through AOW together! Could still remember all of us mocking cum laughing at her wanting to FLY to redang to do AOW and FLY back. So rich huh? Plus after diving you'll have to wait sometime before taking flights again and we'll all wave bye-bye to her while she's stranded at the airport whining!
The whole course actually felt more like a leisure trip =P Sorry to say but I really didn't feel that I have learnt much, only trying something more e.g. deep dive, night dive. We also had an extra leisure dive thanks to Daniel, the leisure trip DM, who kindly agreed to bring the 7 of us along =P We originally wanted to play beach volley but thought that since we're here to dive, beach volley should be left to Sentosa.
One of the most memorable sightings for me was seeing a cuttlefish lay eggs! Pearly white eggs in the corals. So Cool! I have also seen a school of barracudas but as I was at the surface, I could only have a bird-eye view hence it wasn't very impressive. Still prefer the buoyant-perfect cuttlefish =)
The best part of the whole trip I must say is that I did not experience motion sickness AT ALL!!! Except for the 4-hour night boat ride to Aur. I guess it really make a big difference because I really enjoyed the dives more than the previous ones that I've been to. Good investment in the ginger pills =)YEAH!!!
The worst part I should say is having the damn tank fall and hit me OUCH! ok very pain but far better than the tank smashing my toes! 2 hose on the regulator was damaged and I was held accountable for them... really sad^ I was consoled to take it as a painful lesson to remind me to strap up my own tanks in future. Yeah really painful on the pocket and my thigh! Initially I was pretty upset that they held on to my certification mailer and said that I have to settle payment back in Singapore 1st before releasing it to me! =( I was so looking forward to filling in my details on that form to mail it out! Good thing I have good, nice and understanding friends to help me =)
Conclusion: I will be diving again (already have dream destinations in mind) and would want to be a responsible + more pro diver! And I definitely definitely want to explore underwater photography =) for sure!
