US Work & Travel Part 3 - Sun Priaire & Indianapolis
We headed back to SunPriaire (the place where our employers stay) after the Rochester Fair and sleep for a night at their barn.
This is our new bunk truck =( it’s kind of worst than our previous tiny twin-sharing one but four of us are now sleeping together and it’s slightly bigger.
The potty at their barn =( I hate potties!!!
My first paycheck!!! =) Haha happie! But it’s really very little as it’s for 3 days of work and they deducted a $40 deposit for room and we have to pay $30 for our uniforms =(
Us and the “main” employer – Charlie and Mary. We are with their son, Douglas’s crew.
The barn!
The barn again!
We went out to the gas station to get hot chocolate, it’s our favorite hot drink here! haha
To the laundry mat!
Walking around while waiting for our laundry...
Still walking...
I always could not understand it when I watch movies or drama serials from overseas as to why they have to bring all their laundry out to a shop to wash it. That’s how some romance in the shows start, you know? Waiting for laundry and dryer and start talking to the girl or guy next to you OR you always go to the same laundry mat and notice this girl or guy always going at this time so in future you will always go at this time so that you will meet him or her again! How fun! Haha but not so for me because we always visit different laundry mat at different states. Now I’m doing exactly what I could not understand because in Singapore, we usually have a washing machine in our home!
Back to collect our clothes from the dryer!
Dinner at Fazoli’s. Their bread stick is yummy and the best part is that it is free flow! One thing about restaurants and fast food outlets in US is that their soft drinks come with free refills! How good right? It is never going to work in Singapore coz everyone will just go for unlimited refills.
Camwhore in the toilet
Again…
The Grand Stand of the Indiana State Fair where Carrie Underwood, Jessica Simpson and Backstreet Boys performs!
Nice place near my food stand
The entrance…
Look at that uncle behind! So funny right?
The prizes they offer…
The funfair
The rides…
Merry-go-round~
Oh my~ the fur feels damn good!!!!
See! I told ya the stars were there! Did I mention how I know the performance was live? I heard backstreet boys sing off tune!
And more!
This was suppose to be for the jockey and horse to pose for photos ahaha
If you have watched Babe Pig and the City or Charlotte’s Web, you will sort of have a feel of the fairs I work at. They will have a section for farm animals and they usually hold competition for the animals, like which has the nicest fur or nicest body shape, stuff like that!
The winning pig and it’s piglets!
The chicken barn.
WanPing and Me
The fairgrounds.
My naughty and cheeky 18-year old neighbour. Their trailer is parked right next to ours, so sometimes we will meet outside to chitchat and have a drink or ask some of them to accompany us to the toilet ahaha.
Me at work! Don’t think it’s all so glamourous, you will know what I mean after you see more photos below!
The pizza I baked! Looks yummy huh?
This is how we spend our break time…
Hiding in the tents because of the scorching sun and sleeping on the freezer.
Here’s the moment of truth – I am sweeping the roads!!!
Here’s stacy! We are just like cleaners!
This is worst! Haha
Check out my fat and grumpy face while scrubbing the fryer!
Well but sometimes we have some happy moments too! Such as shopping at Walmart after work! Haha! I bought curry seasoning and cooked for the 4 of us (stole all the ingredients from our food stand – fries as potato, onions, burger pattee as beef) while peiyi bought packet rice.
We also get some form social activity too! Celebrating our boss’s birthday!
The whole family! That little boy Willy is really cheeky and naughty and he doesn’t like to take photos.
This is a nice one! Candid!
I'm surviving well here =) I even travelled to Chicago for 4days during our break! Will try to update soon I hope =)
p/s: I don't do collage now cos my mum complain that the pics are too small for her to see!
